Exercise of the Week: Alternating Toe Touch

Happy Boxing Day! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas (and/or Hanukkah!). The weather has been pretty crazy lately, but just because you’re stuck inside doesn’t mean you can’t work out! If you know you’re going to put “get fit” or something along those lines as one of your New Years Resolutions, why not start now? For our exercise of the week we thought we’d choose the alternating toe touch because you can easily do it on your living room floor! This exercise improves core strength by working the abs, legs, and lower back. Happy exercising! 

As with many of our exercises, this one can be performed with or without ExcelCord. If you are using ExcelCord, start facing the anchoring point. You should be lying flat on your back with your legs straight and your hands behind your head or out to the sides (the videos below demonstrate the two different techniques). Keeping your legs straight, crunch up and extend your arm touching your hand to the opposite foot. Return to the starting position, switch legs, and repeat the exercise. Touching each foot once is one repetition. We recommend three sets of 10 reps.
